Aikido

Aikido is not a martial art aimed at defeating an opponent; rather, it is a budō dedicated to the cultivation of one’s character and spirit. It was founded by Morihei Ueshiba during the Taishō to Shōwa periods.

The distinctive feature of its techniques lies in harmonizing with one’s partner and applying techniques in accordance with the natural flow of movement. Aikido is not merely a set of physical skills, but places great importance on the inner mind and spiritual aspects, making it a subtle and profound martial art.

Aikido emphasizes natural movement without forcing the body, allowing for lifelong practice. We warmly invite you to come and experience it for yourself, and to enjoy the unique appeal of Aikido in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Taipei Aikido Shiseikan

This dojo is the only Aikido dojo in Taiwan that belongs to the Yoshinkan system. Yoshinkan Aikido was founded by Gozo Shioda, the headmaster revered as the “God of Budo.”

Due to its high level of practicality, Yoshinkan Aikido has been adopted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and the Japan Self-Defense Forces. Moreover, Yoshinkan has systematized and “scientized” aspects of Aikido that were originally abstract and difficult to grasp, making the art clear and accessible. As a result, it is particularly easy for beginners to learn.

In addition, there is also a dojo in Osaka, which actively promotes international exchange.
